Standard Programs...
Below are the standard programs offered at the practice in addition to individual visit consultations.
-
Well-Woman Program
One 2-hour visit between 5 days after and 5
days before menses (includes a detailed physical and naturopathic examination,
blood/urine tests for female hormones, biochemistry, haematology, cholesterol,
thyroid profiles, swab, pap smear and pelvic gynaecological diagnostic
ultrasound scan). The program is modular and can be customised to your needs. -
Monitored Cycle - Fertility Assessment
4 visits, one on cycle day 1 or
2, one at midcycle and one in third week of cycle and a final summary visit. Includes FSH,
LH, oestrogen,
progesterone serum levels, Chlamydia antibodies screen, three pelvic ultrasound exams and BBT
chart interpretation. The initial consultation fee is additional. Ultrasound fallopian tube patency assessment using the
HyCoSy system can be
included if indicated (£245.00 extra). -
Trisomy Risk Profile (accredited by The Fetal
Medicine Foundation)

One visit between week 11 and 14 of pregnancy. This profile is a combined
maternal blood test and a nuchal translucency ultrasound scan. The blood test
measures Free beta hCG and
PAPP-A. The serum levels and nuchal thickness are then combined with maternal
age in a Fetal Medicine Foundation computer program which calculates the risk of Down's Syndrome (Trisomy
21). A full hardcopy report is provided to all
patients.
Tubal Patency Assessment (HyCoSy)
One visit at
our Richmond
practice
between day 8 and day 12 of a natural
unprotected menstrual cycle or anytime in the cycle if reliable contraception is
being used. HyCoSy is a
transvaginal ultrasound technique in which a solution of galactose is
infused into the uterine cavity and observed to flow along the Fallopian tubes
to assess tubal patency.
Saline Infusion Sonography (SIS)
This is a
simple procedure, able to be performed in the office. It allows the presence,
nature, size, vascularity and site of attachment of a mass in the uterine cavity
to be assessed. In a number of cases, it can eliminate the need for further
investigation when no significant endometrial pathology can be demonstrated.
This is particularly important in cases of bleeding around the time of menopause
where a hormonal disturbance is the most common cause and does not benefit from
surgery. Assessment of the uterine cavity is also helpful when the cause of
infertility is suspected to be an intrauterine abnormality preventing embryo
implantation.
IVF or ICSI Support Program 1 acupuncture session before egg collection and two sessions after embryo transfer
plus 4 weeks supply of herbal medicine.
Peri-menopause Assessment 2 sessions over 2 weeks including menopausal female hormone profile.
Menopause Diagnosis One visit (includes blood tests for FSH, oestradiol and progesterone).
Natural Family Planning Tuition Program 4 sessions, 1 one hour training, then follow-up coaching sessions at end of each cycle for 3 cycles (price includes BBT digital thermometer, recording charts and instructions in hardcopy and on floppy
disc).
